Dear iPhone, Rogers Wireless, and Alarm Clock Gods...
Please stop messing with the time on our cell phones. Last week my phone died and Ian's said it was earlier than it actually was. This morning I had the opposite problem. I woke up randomnly around 3:00am and checked my phone for the time. It was almost dead (no, I still haven't replaced it). So I got up and grabbed Ian's phone and set the alarm. It went off on time... (6:00am) but it was really dark outside which was odd. I check my phone and it's now completely dead. I get up and check the computer and it says it's 5:04am. WTF. Seriously? It's only an hour lost but still... when you get up early and go to bed late... every hour is a little on the precious side. Not to mention, I'm staying up late tonight. We've had the PVR for a couple weeks now but I really can't wait until the next episode of Deadliest Catch. I *love* that show. Unfortunately, it's on at 10:00pm but I just can't wait until the next day to watch it - it's that good. Anyway, another FAIL morning for me.

From The "Did That Just Happen?" File
Ellsbury steals home as Red Sox sweep Yankees
Last night Ian and I were watching the Red Sox game before bed. I should start by saying that I am pretty much a Red Sox fan now. I used to be a Dodgers fan but that was back in the Nomo/Piazza era. Now it's all about Joe Torre and Manny. I liked Manny when he was happy and on the Red Sox. But then he let his manager control his mood and ended up with the Dodgers hoping for a ticket to the Yankees. And Joe Torre just doesn't fit for me... give me Lasorda again. I also miss Vin Scully calling the baseball game... I don't care much for the announcers of the Sox games.
Back to the topic... We were watching the Red Sox game against the Yankees and I think J.D. Drew was up to bat. The pitcher starts to throw and we hear the crowd start gasping or something... Next thing you know from the right side of the screen comes my favorite player Jacoby Ellsbury barreling into home plate. He pretty much BEAT the pitch to home. He even stumbled at the very end (speed wobble in my opinion...) and still was safe. I've never seen anyone steal home... but it was awesome. Sox won 4-1. Here's an interesting article on how the Yankees might have let it happen.

Ian Is Feeling Better!
He is still swollen and looks a bit chipmunk-like... but he is feeling much better. I think he is downright tired of soft foods. He tried some Texas Toast last night with the chili we made and liked that but it was still pretty difficult to chew. Tonight is spaghetti with sauteed garlic shrimp. Hopefully he'll be able to chew that.. or at least cut it up into smaller pieces.
This weekend we had some pretty crazy weather on Saturday. While Ian was not impressed, I certainly was. Around 3:30pm it started to get really dark and cloudy. There was lots of thunder and lightening followed by a pretty good rainstorm. *Love* it! The lightening and stuff is still kind of scary for me. I'm not used to seeing lightening from as high up as we are. Ian thinks it's funny. =P
Anyway, it's Monday and I'm tired. Listening to old BNL though. REMINDER - Only 3 days left to vote for the best character in the Excel commercial <-- Important Stuff! Donut is leading.......... =D

Poor Ian
Ian is officially less wise. Unfortunately, the assistant let me know it wasn't easy on him. Most of the teeth were partially or completly impacted. He has had a lot of bleeding and it hasn't been pretty. But right now he is eating some applesauce and definitely looks better. Hopefully he stays okay... he is still numb so we'll see what happens when it fully wears off. I vote for a long nap...

Alright People...
Who voted for the radish??? Come on... you KNOW he's not the best!
"One of them was probably Amanda because she's a vegan and coffee and donuts aren't vegan. She's obviously trying too hard." =]

Silly Poll - Cast Your Votes!
There is an Excel (the gum) commercial that airs here... It has 3 characters... Coffee cup, Donut and Radish. I think that Donut really is the best... but Ian likes the Coffee Cup. Either way the 3 little guys are awesome. So... watch the video below and cast your vote to the right. Thanks!

Comedy of Errors Morning
I woke up this morning to my phone being dead. It might have something to do with the broken-ness of it but whatever. I woke Ian up to check the time on his phone. He said something around 5:56am. Whew. I laid in bed for awhile... got up and admired the fact that it was raining... Then I moseyed on over to the office to plug in my phone and update my podcasts... and I looked at the time on my computer. It read 6:59am. Yeah, that's right... I should have left 15-30 minutes ago! Yay! I raced to get ready and run out the door. Then promptly sit in traffic all the way to Mississauga... getting into work 90 minutes late. Yay Monday Morning!!!! I'm so mad I could throw salad!

Checkups
On Saturday, I had my hair cut. Here's a picture of the river next to the salon. I posted what it looked like in the winter. You can't tell but there is a couple geese flying in the picture.
Yesterday, I went to the doctor for a checkup. They checked my blood pressure. I've never had high blood pressure... only during the period of anxiety I had last year. This time it was 95 over 60. The doctor commented that I have the blood pressure of a teenager and if I'm working out keep doing it. =) I also had a teeth cleaning at a wonderful new dental office. When they tilted my chair back, they moved the tv arm so that the screen was flat to me above my head. It was so comfortable. I even let the assistant polish my teeth which I HATE. Pretty crazy.

Chef Ian & Brittany Present: Mush N' Gush
Ian and I attempted Mush N' Gush on Sunday. We thought it would be simple enough for us to try...
Mush N' Gush
1 lb. Ground Beef
1 can Tomato Soup
2 cans Green Beans, strained
7 Small Potatoes, mashed
Ian peeled and chopped the potatoes.
I like that this recipe has fairly simple ingredients. I've never been a fan of green beans... but this meal has turned me around.
I browned the meat, drained the fat and added the tomato soup. Ian finished off the mashed potatoes.
In a medium sized casserole dish, we spooned the meat into the bottom...
...added the green beans...
...and finished it with the mashed potatoes. Oh, and I drew in it. If you can't tell it says "Mush N' Gush by Ian". =P
We covered it in foil and popped it in the oven at 350 degrees for an hour. Okay, so it's not the prettiest meal!
But it was simple to make and tasted wonderful. The only thing I would do differently is add some garlic or other spices to the meat. It was fairly bland at the bottom. Other than that... very yummy!

Wow...
Big Pharma At 30,000 Feet
Landed in LA... drug up for FDA approval... wow... The only good-sided clue is that he was unfamiliar with the drug name. He covers scientific and medical conferences...

PVR Dance
Tonight Ian and I are going to try to switch out our HD cable box with a HD PVR box - a.k.a. TIVO!!! /pvrdance. Last night was a perfect example... we stayed up too late watching the 2nd to last episode of Project Runway Canada. Ian can easily go to sleep without watching the end of a TV show... but I am definitely not like that. I *have* to see the end of it. Even if it's a damn infomercial (the steak knives suck me in). Anyway, here is a gratuitous picture of the Coop man. We took him to the park one day to feed the duckies. The below graph represents our experience.

Back In Canada
We came back late on Saturday (don't get me started about that flight!). Sunday we grocery shopped and hung around the house. This morning we woke up to this...
Yeah! Snow in APRIL! While I *love* the snow... I was really looking forward to getting back to work following my meeting with Amgen US. Oh well... Here are a couple pictures from our trip. No Coop ones... My mom and Kamber have to get them to me soon... Ian and I are going through Cooper withdrawal! The first picture is us at the airport waiting for our 2 hour delayed flight. The next two are from our trip to Gladstones in Malibu with my mom, Kamber and Cooper. While the day wasn't bright and sunny... there were a ton of dolphins jumping very close to the shore. Pretty cool.
